P&B Foods relocates as it looks ahead to expansion

PROLOGIS, a global owner, operator and developer of industrial real estate, has sold a 12.72 acre plot at Prologis Park Bradford to P&B Foods – one of the largest ethnic and oriental food importers and wholesale distributors in the UK and Europe.

P&B Foods is currently based in a 150,000 sq ft logistics facility in the city. The land at Prologis Park Bradford will accommodate a distribution centre of up to 230,000 sq ft, providing the company with sufficient space for its next phase of expansion. The sale was supported by Bradford Council.

“The move to Prologis Park Bradford is an important step forward for our business,” said Mohinder Singh Bhatoa, managing director, P&B Foods.

“This is a high-profile site in a perfect location. We will have immediate access to the M606, at the centre of the M62 trans Pennine corridor, which means that we are in an ideal position to offer the best possible service to our customers.”

Prologis said this land sale completes another significant aspect of the Prologis Park Bradford development. In 2010, Marks and Spencer, in a joint venture partnership with Prologis and supported by Bradford Council, developed a new 1.1m sq ft distribution centre at the site.

P&B Foods expects to create 50 new jobs within five years.

Councillor David Green, leader of Bradford Council, said: “This is fantastic news for the Bradford economy as it will enable this leading food importer and distributor to expand and generate more jobs in the area.  It is good to see a local company develop and prosper and it proves there is a growing confidence in this area and a willingness to make things happen.”
