Launched in October 2012, auto-enrolment makes it necessary for all UK employers to place all ‘eligible job holders’ into a qualifying workplace pension arrangement. All employers are obliged to contribute to that pension arrangement and monitor their workforce and keep records of their workforce’s membership of the scheme.
Pensions consultant Matt Vosper will be presenting on AE and how ‘With Cost Comes Opportunity’. He will cover mitigating the costs of AE and ensuring the company benefits from the costs of it.
Mr Vosper said: “A number of small businesses won’t have anything in place yet and initial feedback we’ve had from smaller companies is that they want to do the absolute minimum.
“There are certain costs incurred and some businesses don’t want it to cost them anything but the minimum.
“However, employees do have the ability to opt out, so is going for the minimum actually the cheapest option? Why don’t you do more? Your employees will value it more and it might not necessarily cost you more money.”
Risk Benefits consultant Graham Davis will focus on ‘Protecting the Prosperity of your Business’ including the protection of shareholders in the event of death of another shareholder, for example.
