Unit for Drax powers ahead

DEVELOPER Sterling Capitol is on schedule to deliver a 33,000 sq ft production unit at Capitol Park in Goole for Drax Power Station.
The production unit will manufacture environmentally friendly bio-mass fuels to be co-fired at Drax at Selby.
Simon Clarke, development director at Leeds-based Sterling Capitol, said: “Construction work is going tremendously well and we are on schedule to hand the building over in February. The unit should be in use by early spring 2009.
“This project ticks all the right boxes in terms of the environment, sustainability and job creation and is a major step forward for Capitol Park.”
The 33,000 sq ft biomass processing plant will join Guardian Glass and Tesco on site.
The plant will comprise three main areas to enable large bales of straw to be reduced to pellet form, which will then create bio-energy fuel to be co-fired at Drax which is near Capitol Park.
Capitol Park, Goole is the latest addition to Sterling Capitol’s portfolio of business parks in Yorkshire. The £200m, 310-acre development by junction 36 of the M62 is set to create 6,000 jobs.
The agents for Capitol Park, Goole, are the Leeds offices of Knight Frank and DTZ, together with Leeds industrial agents Gent Visick.
