Emma England, regional director, said: “2014 has seen the best crop of awards in Yorkshire for many years.  I’m hopeful that this marks the move away from austerity to a more optimistic outlook for architecture and the construction industry in the region.  It is particularly encouraging to see that three local authorities have invested in good design with new council offices in Doncaster, Wakefield and York.  All three buildings have already paid dividends by providing better services and facilities for customers, a reduction in unauthorised absence from staff and lower running costs from more economical and environmentally efficient premises.”
