YTB launches conference guide for region

YORKSHIRE Tourist Board has launched a new guide outlining how organisations and business can deliver events on a budget in the region.

The guide, which is being launched at the first Yorkshire Tourist Board (YTB) Business Tourism Annual Conference, is YTB’s official guide to Yorkshire as a unique conference destination.

It will feature a selection of Yorkshire’s top venues across cities, towns, the coast, countryside, and natural attractions.

This year’s contents include a look at the economic success of the region, introductions to the ‘Yorkshire Conference Experts’, a feature on unique venues such as The Deep in Hull, incentive products, shopping, fine dining, local produce, and accessibility of the region.

More than 4,000 copies of the guide will be used and distributed through various channels and will be sent to key conference buyers, national associations, corporate meeting planners, business tourism intermediaries and international associations.

Joanna Royle, YTB marketing director, said: “Conference & Incentive Yorkshire is a key way to communicate to our business audience. Our recent conversion figures show that the 2007 guide generated in excess of £15.5m for the region’s businesses for example. Of those conference buyers surveyed 85% of respondents requested to receive the guide again this year and the majority said they were likely to return to Yorkshire or recommend the destination to others.”

The Yorkshire Tourist Board (YTB) Business Tourism Annual Conference takes place on November 4 at the National Railway Museum, York.
