Restaurant group to open fourth Yorkshire branch

THE COSMO Restaurant Group is opening is fourth Yorkshire branch this month.

The group, which has described Yorkshire as its “second home” has invested £1m in its new York branch.

COSMO, which operates 15 eat-all-you-want world cuisine banqueting restaurants across the country, has Yorkshire branches in Doncaster, Leeds and Sheffield. The latest addition brings the group’s investment in the county to £4m, with the creation of around 300 jobs, and there is more to come, with a second branch due to open in Leeds later in the year.

COSMO’s York branch, which will seat around 220 people in a former Argos store on the waterfront close to North Street, will have more than 100 dishes from eight different countries on offer and live cooking at eight cooking stations.

James Brion, creative director at COSMO Restaurant Group, said: “With three restaurants already opened and thriving and a fourth in York on its way, Yorkshire is fast becoming our second home.

“The county is a great up-and-coming destination and its cities are fast gaining reputations as cosmopolitan places. This fits in well with what we offer and means that the county is somewhere we feel offers us plenty of opportunities.

“We cannot wait to open our restaurant in York. The city is world-renowned as a tourism destinations, but schemes such as Reinvigorate York and other planned redevelopment projects show us that it is a city whose economy is very much on the up, so we are moving here at just the right time.”
