Jobs lost as administrators called in to manufacturer

MORE than 100 jobs have been lost at a South Yorkshire manufacturer which has gone into administration.
Keith Marshall and David Whitehouse of Duff & Phelps were appointed joint administrators to Galglass this month. Galglass, which designs, manufactures and installs steel and concrete storage tanks is based in Barnsley, but operates on both a national and international level and has worked on projects in Afghanistan, Malaysia, Australia, Switzerland and Sweden. It has been established since 1979.
Administrators said the business and assets could not be sold as a going concern and, 134 redundancies were made. The 11 remaining employees are assisting the joint administrators to identify and realise the assets belonging to Galglass.
