Work begins on 90,000 sq ft of Grade A space

CONSTRUCTION of more than 90,000 sq ft of Grade A space in Leeds city centre has begun, ready for occupation in summer 2016.
The site at 3 Sovereign Square will offer open plan floor plates of 16,450 sq ft across its upper floors, with 10,750 sq ft of retail and leisure accommodation at ground level.
The six-storey building, which is being developed by Bruntwood and Kier Property, will be opposite number one, which KPMG took the keys for last week to start the fit-out ready to move in this autumn.
Leeds City Council will also be doing public realm works to help transform the area, which is just to the south of Leeds train station.
Craig Burrow, director at Bruntwood, said: “Since gaining planning permission we have been working hard behind the scenes to get this speculative development underway. I’m really pleased to now see the construction team on-site. We’ve had a positive response from a number of occupiers and we are confident this will be a fantastic addition to the city.”
