Construction firm wins £18m contracts in one month

CONSTRUCTION firm Hobson & Porter has secured more than £18.2m worth of work.
The company is has been on site at JZ Flowers in Newport and the Lower Lindsey Care Home in Cleethorpes as well as the St Giles School in Wakefield.
After a successful year, in which the firm increased turnover to £45m in 2014 from £30m the previous year, the Hull-based firm has also completed an expansion into Lincolnshire.
Graham Beal, managing director at Hobson & Porter, said: “We are delighted to have secured these new works, some of which have been obtained through existing relationships and positive results and others through competitive tender processes.
“May has been an incredible month for Hobson & Porter and our positive start to the year has been a culmination of strategic investment and continuing strong relationships with existing clients.”
The firm employs 120 people and was founded by chairman Peter Hobson and former business partner Bernie Porter.
