Appointments: R3, Sheffield BID, West & North Yorkshire Chamber

BUSINESS restructuring and turnaround specialist Adrian Berry has been appointed as regional chairman of R3, the insolvency trade body.
He takes over from Gateley partner William Ballman who has been in post for two years.
At the same time, lawyer Rachael Markham has been appointed as regional deputy chairwoman.
Mr Berry is a restructuring partner at Deloitte based in Leeds and has over 25 years’ experience working with under-performing businesses at various stages.
Ms Markham is a senior associate at Lupton Fawcett Denison Till.
Mr Berry said: “With a sixth of the UK’s insolvency practitioners based in our region, we are one of the largest centres for the profession and R3 plays a key role in communicating the positive work carried out by our members.
“Over the last two years, William has done a great job of championing the profession in the region – just last month, it was announced that in Yorkshire alone, 631 of the 2,102 of the businesses that entered a formal procedure were rescued, saving around 46,246 jobs.

THE board of Sheffield Business Improvement District has appointed Diane Jarvis as the BID manager.
Shadow board BID chairman is managing director of John Lewis, James Prince. He said: “We are really pleased to have appointed somebody of Diane’s caliber; she will be a great addition to the team and I am confident that she will be a excellent representative for the levy payers.
“It has been an enjoyable experience setting up the BID and with Diane aboard, we look forward to progressing the Year One Action Plan.”
Ms Jarvis said: “Much has already been achieved and I feel there is a real ‘wow’ factor to the City, particularly with the transformation of the Heart of the City.
“The redevelopment of The Moor, including the new public realm, has already started to upgrade our City Centre and has attracted new retailers – plus of course we have Sheffield Retail Quarter on the horizon.
“Rightly so Sheffield is ambitious and over the past decade I have witnessed a very strong determination within Sheffield to do business at a national and international level.”

THE board of the West & North Yorkshire Chamber has undergone a reshuffle.
Stephen Wright of Thorite, past president of Bradford Chamber, takes over as chairman.
Andrew Lindsay of Lupton Fawcett, who led the Chamber during its merger last year, stands down.
Graham Cooper of Agfa Graphics has been appointed as vice chairman. He was a key figure in establishing the Universal Technical College (UTC) in Leeds which opens next.
Ed Everard of Saville Audio Visual has been appointed as the Chamber president of the York & North Yorkshire.
The new vice president is Bridget Davies of Minster FM. New board members also include Paula Dillon of Bond Dickinson and Nick Garthwaite of Christeyns who take on vice-presidency roles in Leeds and Bradford respectively.
