Appointments: DAC Beachcroft, Potter Logistics, Local Care Force

TECHNOLOGY lawyer Richard Watkinson has joined DAC Beachcroft has it continues its growth programme.
Mr Watkinson joins the firm’s Leeds office from Pinsent Masons, where he was a senior specialist technology lawyer.
He specialises in systems integration, procurement and outsourcing in both the public and private sectors and has worked with blue-chip clients at home and abroad, and was listed as an IT expert in The Legal 500 and Chambers.
He joins as DAC Beachcroft undergoes a period of expansion, having earlier this summer completed its move into new Leeds city centre offices at St Paul’s House, a grade II-listed building.
In his new role, he has been reunited with former colleague Michael Peeters. They had worked together for 15 years at Pinsent Masons until Mr Peeters joined DAC Beachcroft four years ago.
The senior IT lawyers are joined by IT projects specialist Emilie Yates and the team has more than 50 years’ experience between them.
Mr Peeters said: “Richard’s arrival is further evidence of the reputation of our Leeds office as a full-service commercial law option for the major local market. A GROUP property manager has been appointed at Ripon-based Potter Logistics.
Robert Barker joins as a qualified chartered surveyor who has joined from Creative Space Management and In-Sight Property Solutions in Leeds.
Prior to that he worked in London at Markheath Properties.
Mr Barker said: “Potter Logistics is a great people company. Tve a wide range of projects and with this new role I feel it will be a great challenge for me. I am looking forward to getting to know all the sites as well as the staff and being part of the Potter Team.”

CLINICAL lead nurse Helen Goldsmith, agency Local Care Force has been appointed onto the committee of the RCN History of Nursing Society.
Ms Goldsmith is for lead nurse for Nursing, Social and Community Care and will remain in her position for a duration of four years.
She said: “Having worked as a nurse for over 25 years, I feel both incredibly proud and humbled to have been asked to join the esteemed committee for the RCN History of Nursing Society.
“The history that we are working so hard to preserve and share, has shaped the nursing profession today and will continue to influence the nurses of tomorrow.
“Local Care Force plans to host and run a series of events promoting the society next year which I’m extremely excited to be involved in. I’m very passionate about nursing and in the history which has led us to practice in the way we do today.
“In my role as clinical lead at LCF I mentor nurses every day and believe that everyone can benefit from knowing more about why we do things and how our skills and practice has evolved over the years.”
