Glenbrae looks to weave its magic with new accessories line

CLOTHES manufacturer Glenbrae, whose roots are in the renowned textile trade of Huddersfield and still produce British knitwear from its spinning mill in Slaithwaite, is expanding its range into a new line of accessories.
Traditionally, the business has been marketed predominantly at the golf wear sector and has enjoyed considerable success, including official endorsements from major golfing personalities, such as former Ryder Cup Captains Sam Torrance and Mark James.
Glenbrae clothing is worn by some of the UK’s best-known sports stars and the brand is the official knitwear partner of Scottish Rugby while its corporate customers include Maybach and Porsche.
The company has now unveiled a line of accessories aimed at consumers and the corporate gifting market. The move marks a new venture into a full range of accessories and provides an alternative for businesses looking to do something different for their customers, staff and suppliers.
Richard Brown, owner of Glenbrae and its parent group Spectrum Yarns, said: “This was a natural step for our business, but brings an exciting new option for our customers. We’ve invested generations of time and expertise developing perfection in terms of our crested sweaters. We’ve taken that experience and technology and applied it to this new range, just in time for Christmas. We’re extremely proud of the outcome, and the quality we’re known for has been our guiding principle throughout.
“As well as offering direct to consumers, our bespoke cresting technology allows businesses and organisations to put their own individual mark on their Christmas gifts and provide a real point of difference.”
The range will include a variety of specially designed garments, including hats, scarves and snoods. They will be available in a vibrant range of colours and have different designs to suit both male and female fashions. The move comes as the brand looks to broaden its appeal to new markets as part of a sales drive beyond its traditional golf sector heritage.
