£100m of contracts in Yorkshire go to construction giant

CONSTRUCTION group Kier has been awarded infrastructure contacts in Yorkshire totalling more than £100m.

The company’s business services division, in conjunction with Mouchel consulting, which it acquired earlier this year, was awarded a £40m contract for consultancy services.

They will be advising North Yorkshire County Council on issues including infrastructure and estates management.

In March 2016, Kier will begin work on a £62m health support services framework for NHS Yorkshire & Humber Clinical Commissioning Group, in partnership with clinical benchmarking company Dr Foster, BDO and public consultants Engine.

In addition, Kier has secured £90m of contracts with Highways England that stretch from Cornwall to North Lancashire.

Haydn Mursell, chief executive of Kier, said: “These extensions demonstrate the value and range of capabilities that we can bring to Highways England and we look forward to working in partnership with them.”

“Following the acquisition of Mouchel back in June, I am pleased to report that Kier Business Services continues to be selected for its knowledge and expertise across the health sector.

“Kier has a strong record of delivering healthcare development projects across the country and these new contracts increase its presence in this growing market sector.”
