Hundreds set to swap suits for sneakers at the Leeds 10k

MORE than 700 people will be swapping suits for sneakers this Sunday at the Leeds 10k, with the Clarion Corporate Challenge.
A race within a race, this year Clarion celebrates its 10th year supporting the race.
The challenge is open to teams of up to five runners with the times of the first three runners home used to calculate the winners.
A spokesperson for law firm Shulmans, which is bringing a team for the first time supporting Yorkshire Cancer Research said: “We have a number of keen runners in the firm and have chosen to enter as a team as a way of encouraging more of our colleagues to participate and because as a firm, we feel strongly about raising money for charity. It will hopefully be more fun to train and run as a group and should generate some healthy competition amongst some of the runners.”
Peter Murphy of LC Vehicle Hire said: “We have entered such a large team as one of our managers daughters had breast cancer at 22, she has made a full recovery , we are running for Weston Park hospital, the teenage cancer ward as we want to give something back.”
Stephen Sutcliffe, director of Finance and Accounting at NHS SBS, said: “The corporate challenge at the Leeds 10K is a super event. It fosters a real team spirit between all those taking part and we are delighted to be entering such a large team.
“The run is fun, helps improve people’s fitness and is a wonderful opportunity to support some excellent charities.”
