Business secretary Sajid Javid replaced in job swap

SAJID Javid has been replaced as Secretary of State for Business by Greg Clark in a job swap.
Mr Javid, who had run for the leadership on a joint ticket with former work and pensions minister Stephen Crabb, will become Communities Secretary in Theresa May’s new-look cabinet.
Mr Clark had been Secretary of State for Communities since last year’s general election.
In the final year of John Major’s Government he was a special advisor to the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Ian Lang. He entered Parliament in 2005. He spent two years as a minister in the Business department, focused on cities and constitution, before moving to DCLG.
He read economics at Cambridge University and has a PhD from the London School of Economics, while his early career was spent with the Boston Consulting Group.
Mrs May’s other appointments include the promotion to chief whip of West Midlands MP Gavin Williamson, who was elected to represent South Staffordshire in 2010.
