Law firm posts increased turnover as office move gets underway

TURNOVER was up last year at Schofield Sweeney, after it also announced that it will be relocate newly acquired firm Armitage Sykes to Huddersfield offices.

The firm’s results for 2015 reported an increase in turnover to £7.07m for the year up from £6.70m the year before – before its acquisition of a new law firm in January.

Profit for the year to 31 December, before members’ remuneration, stayed steady at £3.3m, up slightly on £3.2m in 2014.

Following the year end Schofield Sweeney acquired Armitage Sykes for an undisclosed sum.

The merger created a £10m turnover law firm with 150 staff.

Armitage Sykes, which can date its history back to 1751 when it was known as Crosland & Fenton, will rebrand this year, along with taking up offices at 30 Market Street, Huddersfield.

The move is expected to complete before the end of the year.
