£43m residential development unlocked in Bradford

CONSTRUCTION has launched at a £43m residential development in Bradford by developer Keepmoat.
The construction firm has begun work on a 292-home development on Allerton Lane in the city.
The regeneration project has been named Heron’s Reach and will take seven years to build.
Ground has officially been broken at a £43m new housing development on Allerton Lane, Bradford, where 292 new homes will be built on 14.8 hectares of land.
Ian Hoad, Keepmoat’s regional director for Yorkshire West, said: “At a time when there is so much negativity and questions surrounding the housing crisis, we are delighted to have partnered Bradford Council and Hallam Land to make some significant inroads in tackling the provision of new homes in Bradford.
“We’re proud that 75% of Keepmoat customers across the country are first time buyers and we are confident that the delivery of these 292 new homes will serve to improve home ownership in the city, through the availability of schemes like Help to Buy.
“As with all of our new housing developments, we are also wholly committed to putting back into the community and we hope that over the course of the seven years, we will be using an entirely local workforce; while also encouraging young people into our field through training and apprenticeships.”
Keepmoat is already taking reservations on the new homes, with the first residents at Heron’s Reach expected to move by April 2017.
