Restaurateurs launch latest Thai eatery

Restaurateurs have opened their third Thai restaurant – with a twist.

Owners Paul Nichols and Scott Carroll opened Café Thai, a 16 seater takeaway on Green Lane in Halifax in 2010 before launching a licensed restaurant in 2014.

Now their latest venue will be a Thai tapas restaurant in West Vale after the pair secured £280,000 of funding from NatWest.

With the funding they were able to purchase and fit out a new 50-cover licensed restaurant on Stainland Road. Café Thai Tapas opened in December last year, creating more than 20 kitchen and front of house jobs.

Co-owner and director Paul Nichols said: “Our restaurant is extremely popular in the local area, often fully booked four to five weeks in advance. We found ourselves in the frustrating position of turning customers away.

“Now that Café Thai Tapas has launched, we have more than doubled our capacity offering people another way to try our tasty food. Feedback from diners so far has been great with bookings flooding in for both restaurants.”

NatWest relationship manager, Adrian Bottom, said: “Paul and Scott came to us as new customers, encouraged by the added value support we could offer. They have been able to realise their expansion plans, grow their business and create new jobs in the local area.”
