Chapter Eight secures ORCA clients

DIGITAL Agency Chapter Eight has acquired 420 clients following the demise of ORCA Websites.

The ORCA clients’ websites were built on Chapter Eight’s technology and services and sold through ORCA Websites.

Chapter Eight managing director Mario Thomas said: “We are constantly looking to expand not just through organic growth, but by acquisition when we see the right opportunity.

“We are delighted to welcome ORCA’s business clients to Chapter Eight, which already works with high street names like Sock Shop and Share Jewellers to fast-growing pure-play online retailers, such as The Gift Experience and Kiroco.

“Our first priority was to guarantee there would be no interruption to service for the previous ORCA clients when ORCA Websites Limited ceased trading. In fact, we expect to be able to offer them many benefits to improve their online business.”

Ecommerce specialist Chapter Eight started trading eight years ago and now has 35 full time staff at its base in Leeds.

The firm was advised on the deal by John Holroyd of Mazars and David Strachan of Schofield Sweeney.

Mr Holroyd said: “Chapter Eight have a strong and forward thinking management team and this acquisition demonstrates their optimism for the business. We look forward to providing them with continued support and sharing in their success.”
