Harrogate retail park set for expansion
A £13m expansion of Oak Beck Park retail park in Harrogate
is to go ahead following confirmation of funding for the
project.
The park on Skipton Road will be extended by 2.2 acres to
incorporate an adjacent derelict quarry site, which was acquired by
Leeds-based Gregory Projects two years ago.
The expansion project, which is to funded by park owners Morley
Development Company, will see the construction of 50,000sq ft of
retail space with Focus DIY already named as the principal
occupier.
The stores former unit will be rebuilt and turned into a Pets at
Home store. Thistle Construction has been named as the building
firm responsible for construction. Deal negotiations were headed by
the Leeds office of law firm Gordons.
Barry Gregory, chairman of The Gregory Group said:

handled with precision. Throughout the negotiation Gordons ensured
that the deal kept up its momentum and worked tirelessly to ensure
a favourable outcome for all parties.”
The Oak Beck Park development is due for completion in early
2009. Only one retail unit of 10 to 15,000sq ft remains
available.
Gordons was founded in 1844 and opened its Leeds office in 2000.
The firm, which employs 303 people, boasts clients including
Morrisons, Coors, and the Peter Black Group.
