Latest property appointments

BARNSDALES chartered surveyors and property consultants is enjoying continued growth with two new appointments and a new Doncaster office.

Jonathan Burr and Ryan Stevens have joined Barnsdales as head of commercial agency and surveyor respectively. 

Having managed his own consultancy and previously working for Lambert Smith Hampton and Saxton Mee in Sheffield, Mr Burr will lead the agency team following a raft of new instructions to expand the business.

Mr Stevens joins from Scottish and Newcastle and is tasked with driving the expansion of the commercial management and professional side of the business.

His remit covers work for local and national clients including Industrious, Northern Trust and Lazarus.

To accommodate its ongoing expansion the business has moved to new Doncaster premises on Thorne Road, complementing its existing offices in Sheffield and Scunthorpe.

Skelwith Group YORK-based developer The Skelwith Group has hired Nigel Brunt as director of sales and marketing for the 80-acre Raithwaite Hall Country Retreat in Sandsend near Whitby.

Mr Brunt was previously director of sales and marketing at York’s Cedar Court Grand Hotel and Spa, following senior positions at Cliveden, The Oxfordshire and Lensbury.

With construction of the luxury 45 bed five star hotel underway and completion of the £30m redevelopment on track for the summer of 2011, Mr Brunt brings extensive experience to this new role.

DTZREAL estate advisor DTZ has strengthened its rating team in Leeds with the appointment of Danny Latimer as a surveyor.

Mr Latimer, who previously worked at Lambert Smith Hampton, will work across DTZ’s expanding regional portfolio.

His appointment follows the consultancy’s success in winning major contracts with clients including Barclays Bank and The Royal Bank of Scotland.

Gillian Oliver, DTZ’s rating director in Leeds, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Danny on board. His appointment will further enhance our expertise and the level of service provision we can offer our clients.”

CBRE Leeds new appointsFOLLOWING the recent appointment of Richard Sunderland as managing director, CB Richard Ellis in Leeds has added four new surveyors to the team.

The lease consultancy and rating division has recruited Chris Ward from Carter Towler and Nick Marsden from Cooke & Arkwright.

Jamie Gellert, previously at Colliers CRE, has been appointed within the valuation team and Michelle Lefton joins the office agency.

CONSTRUCTION framework YORbuild  has appointed a project skills co-ordinator to oversee its 15 on-going projects.

Launched in 2009, YORbuild has achieved National Skills Academy for Construction (NSAfC) status, a ConstructionSkills initiative which aims to drive up the standard of industry training. 

As a result, YORbuild’s projects are responsible for providing on-site training designed to enhance the skills of apprentices and workers on site and help contractors meet project needs.

Mark Scott, the new project skills co-ordinator, will be responsible for delivering the framework’s employment and skills planning agenda, which aims to establish an employer-led approach to training to ensure projects have the right skills and are met on time and on budget.
