McLean to retire from DLA Piper

NEIL McLean, managing Partner of DLA Piper in Leeds, is to retire after 17 years with the law firm as a property lawyer and partner.
Mr McLean will retire at the end of April 2011, although he will continue to work with the firm in an advisory capacity.
During his career, Mr McLean was head of DLA Piper’s real estate practice in the UK for three years and also served on the international board of DLA Piper between 2006 and 2009.
Sarah Day (pictured right), a finance lawyer, partner and a current member of the DLA Piper international board, will succeed Mr McLean from May 1.
Mr McLean said: “I have been proud to build my career at DLA Piper. Our practice in Leeds has had 10 years of successful development and growth on the local regional, national and international scene and I know Sarah will lead the office to even greater success.”
In October, he was named Lawyer of the Decade at the Yorkshire Lawyer Awards.
