Palletower grows racking and shelving business with acquisition of Yorkshire firm

Sale-based warehouse and logistics equipment supplier, Palletower, has completed the acquisition of a second Yorkshire-based target, three months after buying Beverley-based racking and shelving specialist, Kingstonian Storage and Equipment.

This time the business has snapped up Leeds-based Alternative Storage Systems, again, for an undisclosed sum.

The purchase is Palletower’s fifth acquisition within the racking and shelving sector over the past eight months.

Palletower has grown to become one of Europe’s largest providers of storage and logistics equipment.

Recent acquisitions have helped take the business from an established global turnover of more than £40m towards sales of £50m and in excess of 70 staff.

The company makes and supplies more than 100 product lines, including roll cages, trolleys, racking, stillages and storage boxes.

With a 60-year heritage in the sector, it exports to more than 35 countries and its customers include Waitrose, Walmart and DHL.

Founded in 2019 and drawing on a 30-year sector experience, Alternative Storage Systems designs, supplies, installs and maintains shelving, pallet racking and mezzanine floor solutions for warehouses and commercial units nationwide.

Among Palletower’s other recent acquisitions are West Pennine Storage, WP Group, Astirvant and Yorkshire Storage.
