Jobs created as Search Laboratory expands

INTERNET search marketing specialist Search Laboratory has created six new jobs as part of its continued expansion.
The Leeds-based company helps organisations improve their internet visibility through paid online search, natural search campaigns and search-focused website development.
It also specialises in multilingual and multicultural online search, helping organisations appear in other countries’ local search engine rankings.
New business director John Readman joined Search Laboratory in the summer from Communicator Corp, bringing with him more than 13 years experience in growing fast moving technology companies.
He has led a business-to-business sales drive which has helped the company win a raft of new accounts.
He said: “We are seeing an increase in marketing activity which, hopefully, is a sign that the wider economy will pick up over the next 12 months.
“We are signing up business outside Yorkshire that is going to create jobs within the region.”
Four of the six new roles are for graduates to join the company’s training scheme to become experts in digital marketing, and the remaining two are in marketing and administration.
As part of its expansion programme, Search Laboratory has also opened a London office.
Chief executive Ian Harris said: “As the internet increasingly becomes first port of call for individuals or businesses looking to buy, then appearing high up on Google searches is crucial.
“Enabling potential customers to find you is the first lesson of selling and the internet is an organisation’s shop window on the world.”
