In Brief: Wyedale Hall open; Food ‘bible’ deadline; Solaglas revenue boost;
WYDALE Hall, the York Diocesan Conference and Retreat Centre, has re-opened after extensive restoration work.
The 19th Century hall, which is set in 14 acres of gardens and woodland one mile near the A170 Scarborough to Pickering road, now boasts WiFi access, a tennis court, bar and adventure playground.
More than 60 people can now be catered for at any one time. The conference room can seat up to 50 people.
The Archdeacon of Cleveland Paul Ferguson, who is the chair of the management committee, said: “We restored the main chapel, and have now given it a dual lease of life as a conference room or chapel.
“The room was originally a ballroom, and we have taken out the 1970s wooden ceiling and panels around the walls to restore it to a light, airy room, with amazing views over the Wydale valley.”
