Clariant site sale by Eddisons

AS part of its on-going work with Clariant, the global speciality chemicals group, Eddisons has sold a 97,000 sq ft manufacturing site on Darlington Road, Northallerton for £3.3m.

Put on the market by Clariant when it became surplus to requirements, the site, which sits on 7.96 acres of land, was quickly sold to Leeds-based property developer, Bracken.

The company, which made the purchase through its joint venture vehicle with Barnfield Construction, Pendle Bracken, is considering a mix of uses on the site, involving redevelopment and refurbishment of the existing buildings.

Eddisons' Simon Croft said: “We have advised Clariant UK in respect of their property portfolio since 2003 and in that time our key aims have been to improve value, ensure best use of assets and maximise disposal proceeds.

“As part of this process it was always likely certain properties would become surplus to requirements and to be given the opportunity to act as selling agent when this happens is a great reflection on the work we do. The Darlington Road property attracted a great deal of interest and was sold following a competitive bidding process.”

Eddisons has offices in Bradford, Huddersfield, Leeds and Manchester.
