Record sales for Harratts car dealership

A YORKSHIRE car dealership has reported record sales for 2010.

Harratts Volvo Huddersfield, part of Harratts Motor Group, says that sales were up 50% with sales of used cars more than doubling compared with 2009, increasing by 116%.

Sales in new cars also increased by 15%, more than five times the industry average.

David Mills, general manager at Harratts Volvo Huddersfield, said: “We are delighted to post such positive sales figures, smashing previous records and consolidating our place as one of the most successful dealerships in the area.

“These fantastic results are testament to the sales team at the dealership; without exception, every member of staff has worked unstintingly over 2010.

“I would like to thank all the staff at the dealership as we look forward to another record-breaking year in 2011.”

Another of the motor group’s dealerships, Harratts Peugeot Leeds,  is offering a piece of the future to motorists across Yorkshire by being the first in the region to sell the pioneering new breed of 100% electric cars.

Harratts announced that the new Peugeot iOn would be on sale from its Peugeot Leeds dealership from the Spring, placing it in an exclusive group of 22 dealerships chosen by the manufacturer from across the UK.

With no other electric car currently on sale in the region, the motor group will offer the only site in Yorkshire for motorists to experience the ground-breaking technology.

Harratts Peugeot Leeds will offer a Peugeot iOn demonstrator, a dedicated electric vehicle charging point, specially trained staff and servicing equipment.

The Peugeot iOn will be available to view at Harratts at the end of February.

Shaun Harratt, managing director of Harratts, said: “We are delighted to be the first and currently only dealership in Yorkshire to sell a 100% electric car. The Peugeot iOn is a pioneering vehicle that will have a massively positive impact on the environmental cost of motoring.”
