New FD as Vp defies weather
SPECIALIST equipment hire group Vp has appointed Allison Bainbridge as group finance director.
Ms Bainbridge most recently held a number of senior financial positions within Kelda Group, the parent company of Yorkshire Water, latterly as group finance director.
She will join Harrogate-based Vp on March 1.
Chairman Jeremy Pilkington said: “We are delighted to welcome Allison to the team at Vp. Allison is a proven financial leader with a breadth of experience which will be invaluable to the future development of the group.”
In its interim management statement this morning, the company said that overall demand for its services has remained relatively consistent with that experienced in the first half of its current financial year.
Vp said that whilst the weather conditions during December were unusually severe, the impact on the business was “largely neutral” and expects to report full year results in line with market expectations.
The company said: “We have continued to invest in the business as opportunities have been secured. Debt levels within the group remain well within our committed facilities and the associated covenants.
“We continue to concentrate on optimising the performance of our existing business streams. We believe a sustained economic recovery is likely to be some way off. However, we do anticipate that opportunities will appear in the future and our strong balance sheet will enable us to embrace these as they arise.”
Vp said its “resilient” business model of providing specialist equipment services to a diverse range of markets remains a significant asset.
