Milan, Paris, New York – Huddersfield

CUTTING edge fashion coupled with innovative quality fabrics and textiles will take centre stage as part of Yorkshire’s first fashion week.

The series of events, which will take place in the last week of June, will culminate in a catwalk show at the Galpharm Stadium in Huddersfield.

A collection from one of the country’s leading clothes designers – Betty Jackson – will be one of the highlights of the show alongside work from up and coming new designers.

Fashion shows will also take place at universities and colleges around the region together with a ‘Behind the Seams’ exhibition, which explores skills needed in the fashion industry.

The event is being presented by The Textile Centre of Excellence, supported by Yorkshire Forward, Welcome to Yorkshire, Skillfast-UK and Kirklees Council.

Yorkshire-born Christopher Bailey, who is creative director of Burberry, has already lent his support to the event.

“As a Yorkshireman I feel incredibly proud to be associated with such a fantastic initiative and expression of Northern, British talent, and one that really reflects the heritage the county has always had in textiles, design, quality and creativity,” he said.
