Appointments: New head of employment at Irwin Mitchell; Trio of hires at Barclays Wealth; and more

LAW firm Irwin Mitchell has added to its business advisory team with the hire of Tom Flanagan as its head of employment.
Mr Flanagan, who has been a partner at Pinsent Masons since 2003, is experienced in all aspects of employment law, particularly within the financial sector.
He has particular expertise in dealing with the application and effects of TUPE in mergers, acquisitions and outsourcing across the public and private sectors. He also specialises in trade unions and employee consultation issues, including the European Works Council Directive.

BARCLAYS Wealth has boosted its Leeds office with three appointments to its private banking and financial planning divisions.
Vickie Griffin and Richard Wood have joined the Leeds team as private bankers and Alasdair Livingstone will take up the role of financial planner.
Barclays Wealth’s regional office head for Leeds, Martin Cuthbert, said: “With their local knowledge and calibre of experience, we are delighted to welcome Vickie, Richard and Alasdair to the team.”

DAN Evans has joined Barclays Corporate’s North Yorkshire team as relationship director.
Mr Evans, who has worked for Barclays for two years, previously worked for Brewin Dolphin Investment Bank advising on a range of corporate finance transactions.
He said: “I am relishing the challenge of driving forward the larger business profile of Barclays in North Yorkshire and am looking forward to meeting new and existing customers from across the region.”

LAW firm Gordons has boosted its employment law offering with the appointment of expert human resources consultant John Dodge.
He joins Gordons to provide a dedicated consultancy service that will complement the employment law services currently being offered by the firm.
He will also liaise closely with Gordons’ other departments on any areas that may require HR advice.
