Kingston Veterinary Group continues expansion with acquisition

KINGSTON Veterinary Group has continued its expansion programme with its latest acquisition.

The group has acquired Peel Veterinary Practice on Willerby Road, Hull and all nine members of the nursing and reception staff at Peel have been retained.

They have been joined at the practice by Kingston director Richard Jones.

Peel’s former owner Giles Horner is transferring to the Kingston Group’s Beverley Road surgery as a locum.

Mr Jones said: “We are delighted to have acquired this long established and respected practice. We will be providing a wide range of additional benefits to Peel customers, including the services of a highly experienced senior vet and all the extensive resources of our nearby Park Street veterinary hospital, which provides 24 hour nursing care.”

Established 44 years ago, Peel’s Willerby Road practice has an in-house laboratory and modern surgical and diagnostic facilities.

Giles Horner said: “I am pleased that Kingston has acquired the practice because with its veterinary hospital, extensive staff and out of hours nursing cover, it will be able to provide a complete service to customers.”

The Kingston Veterinary Group’s owners, Richard Jones and Paul Atkinson, began the group’s expansion by creating its Park Street animal hospital and followed that up by opening new surgeries at Holderness Road and Anlaby, adding to its existing premises on Beverley Road and in Cottingham.

The group also acquired the Bluewaters canine rehabilitation and hydrotherapy centre at The Boulevard in Hull.
