Seminars to boost language skills and exports announced

A SERIES of events aimed at helping businesses to improve their language skills are to be hosted by the Regional Language Network Yorkshire & The Humber (RLNYH).
According to the group businesses who are proactive in their use of foreign languages achieve on average 45% more export sales.
The seminars will be held throughout July to September in Sheffield, Leeds and Hull.
The series will kick off with a focus on making websites an international selling tool on July 8 in Sheffield.
The second on July 10 in Hull will focus on doing business in China with the third on July 14 looking at selling and marketing in Europe.
The next seminar on July 21 in Sheffield will be an introduction to business french, German and Spanish while the fifth on July 23 will address how companies can create an international brand.
On September 24 a seminar on doing business in emerging markets will be held in Sheffield. The final seminar on September 25 in Hull will focus on doing business in Japan and Japanese corporate culture.
RLNYH can also offer intensive subsidised language training for up to 20 hours.
The programme is part funded by the European Union through the European Social Fund and is co-financed by the Learning and Skills Council and Yorkshire Forward.
