Latest Appointments: Secret Millionaire joins board; New head of family law at McCormicks; and more

MARKETING entrepreneur and TV ‘Secret Millionaire’ star, Carl Hopkins, has joined the board of Wakefield-based company, Media Displays.

Mr Hopkins, former chairman of marketing agency, JDA, joins the company as a non-executive director.

The company was established in 2004 and specialises in outdoor mobile digital advertising such as TV advertising vehicles.

HARROGATE law firm, McCormicks, has appointed a new head to lead its family law team.

Amanda Cuthbert joins the firm from Berwins and specialises in all aspects of family law including divorce, pre-nuptial agreements and child matters.

Ms Cuthbert brings with her 15 years of experience and is an accredited collaborative lawyer and a member of the Childrens Panel.

Geoff Rogers, a partner at McCormicks, said: “Amanda’s appointment as head of family law will provide further expertise to the team as she brings with her both an in-depth knowledge of all the legal issues faced by families and long experience of working with people in the Harrogate region.”

YORK-BASED construction company, Shepherd Construction, has appointed a new business director.

Gary Edwards has joined the company from Lorne Stewart where he was strategic development director, and brings with him more than 30 years experience in construction and engineering industries.

Mr Edwards will take responsibility for the firms’ Winning Work strategy, and oversee business development, marketing, front-end design and framework activities.

Mr Edwards said; “This is an exciting opportunity to further promote Shepherd’s core strengths, from the company’s financial stability to its strong reputation for quality and reliability.

“We will be looking to continue the excellent work we do for our existing clients and grow the business into new strategic markets.”

LAW firm, Halliwells, has appointed its first ever non-lawyer partners.

IT director, Dene Row, and facilities director, Pam McKay have been promoted to the position of partner and will work across all four offices in Sheffield, London, Liverpool and Manchester.

Their appointment follows the implementation of the Legal Services Act, allowing non-lawyers to become partners.

Managing partner at Halliwells’ Sheffield office, Suzanne Liversidge, said; “We are delighted that the Legal Services Act allows us to formally recognise the important role Dene and Pam play in the firm.
