Office deal heralds new HQ for Redmayne-Bentley

STOCKBROKING and investment management firm Redmayne-Bentley is moving into new headquarters in a major office deal.
The firm is moving to 9 Bond Court in Leeds as it centralises its operations from three separate buildings in the city.
Redmayne-Bentley is taking 13,930 sq ft of grade A office space on a 10-year lease. The rent is undisclosed.
The deal means that 9 Bond Court, owned by Sun Alliance & London Insurance, managed by F&C Asset Management, and home to top professional services firms such as Knight Frank and Begbies Traynor, is now fully let.
David Loudon, the managing partner of Redmayne-Bentley, said: “We are moving all our staff from Merton House, Butts Court and our Albion Street shop so that our Leeds head office is operating under one roof.
“Our new premises, on three floors of Bond Court, will house 130 Leeds-based employees who provide share dealing and investment management services, in addition to the growing back office support to the firm’s 36 branches which are located throughout the UK and in Ireland.
“In addition to continuing to offer a retail presence to both existing and new clients, the new premises will also include additional meeting rooms for clients and more facilities for our investor educational seminars and other client events.”
Property firms Knight Frank and Savills acted on the letting.
Jonathan Hyland, a partner with Knight Frank in Leeds, which advised Redmayne-Bentley, said: “This substantial letting is a major office deal for the city.
“There are now signs that the sluggish Leeds office market is beginning to move again after a couple of barren years.
Confidence appears to be returning, which is excellent news.”
Paul Fairhurst, head of the Leeds office of Savills, which advised Sun Alliance & London Insurance, said: “Bond Court is one of the city’s most prestigious office buildings, featuring 66,000 sq ft of high spec office space in the business and retail core.
Redmayne-Bentley will be an excellent addition to the current tenant mix.”
Redmayne-Bentley’s history dates back to 1875 when John Redmayne started as a stockbroker in Leeds.
