TWO new occupiers have signed up to Gregory Property Group’s £35m Broad Street Plaza scheme in Halifax, meaning phase one is now 90% pre-let nearly a year before its completion.
Pizza Express and Nando’s will both take units at the scheme, the town’s first ‘destination’ leisure location and containing the town’s first large scale multiplex cinema.
The 277,000 sq ft mixed use scheme, located opposite Halifax Town Hall, will be marketed as one of the area’s biggest new investment opportunities.
Phase one comprises over 85% of the scheme equating to almost 235,000 sq ft and is due for completion in April 2012.

DTZ’s industrial and logistics team in Yorkshire, based at the firm’s Leeds office, has smashed its own record for the number of deals completed in quarters three and four of 2010 and this year’s first quarter.
More than 53 deals and 2m sq ft have been transacted by the team in the last nine months.
The deals include a mix of acquisition and disposals on a freehold and leasehold basis of industrial, warehousing and manufacturing premises across Yorkshire.
DTZ’s transactional highlights include the letting of 667,000 sq ft at Sherburn Distribution Park to Debenhams.

THE Medical Protection Society’s Leeds office, Granary Wharf House, is up for sale at a quoting price of £5.25m.
Carter Jonas has been instructed to sell the 21,000 sq ft space and search for additional space in Leeds.
The search is being co-ordinated by John Webster, head of Carter Jonas’ Leeds office, and is for 55,000 to 60,000 sq ft of Grade A office space within easy walking distance of Leeds train station.
MPS said it will consider both purchasing or leasing of suitable opportunities and timing for completion depends on whether a new build route is considered, or existing premises.

TWO retailers have extended their leases at The Ridings Shopping Centre in Wakefield, with Holland & Barrett extending its tenure for ten years and Clarks for a further five years.
The three level mall comprises of more than 267,000 sq ft of retail space housing more than 100 stores and restaurants including Marks & Spencer, Boots, The Body Shop, Primark and WH Smith.
It was acquired by Moorfield Real Estate Fund in 2005 and is managed by Plus Shops.
