TAB launches second board for entrepreneurs in Yorkshire

THE Alternative Board (TAB), the Harrogate-based business coaching organisation, which was launched in June, has formed its second Yorkshire board.
The second board consists of the owners of nine businesses – from Barnsley, Doncaster, Harrogate and Leeds.
TAB managing director Paul Dickinson said: “The TAB concept is proving to be very popular – particularly in the current economic climate, when business owners need all the help and advice they can get.”
Each TAB board comprises owners of similar-sized, non-competing businesses, who meet monthly to share experiences and get unbiased advice.
Mr Dickinson added: “Our real point of difference is that we combine hard-won practical experience from like-minded board members with individual coaching and sophisticated online business analysis tools.
“Owner-managers can benefit from meeting with their peers to air their concerns and receive unbiased counselling on the challenging business issues they face – the sort of advice they are unlikely to find anywhere else – certainly not within their own organisations!”
Founded in 1990, The Alternative Board is based in Denver, Colorado, and now has boards in more than 1,000 towns and cities across the US and Canada. It was formally launched in the UK in June 2009 led by chairman Martin Allison, a former Royal Bank of Scotland executive who is now dean of Leeds Business School.
