Rolls Royce factory plans for AMP move forward

A PUBLIC consultation has been launched into plans for Rolls Royce to build two manufacturing plants in Yorkshire.

The factories, planned for the Advanced Manufacturing Park near Rotherham, are expected to create more than 350 jobs if built.

Engineering firm Rolls Royce is expected to submit planning applications for the premises to Rotherham Council next month.

One of the factories is expected to build components for the next generation of nuclear power stations in Britain.

The other will be used to manufacture turbine blades for jet engines.

If planning permission is granted, building work on the factories could start next year.
