Award for Webscreen

NETWORK security software company Webscreen Systems has been named a winner at the British Computer Society's IT industry awards.

Leeds-based Webscreen collected the gong, in the security and data management project category, at an awards ceremony held at London's Grosvenor House Hotel.

Webscreen beat major organisations including BT, the Environment Agency and the London Stock Exchange to the title for its work to help to protect the web servers of e-commerce based businesses from viral attacks which can stop companies from trading for significant periods of time and potentially cost them thousands of pounds in lost revenues.

The British Computer Society (BCS) is an independent industry body for IT professionals and has more than 60,000 members in 100 different countries.
