Property merger brings companies together at Monument

A YORKSHIRE property ‘super group’ has been formed following the coming together under one company of three businesses founded by entrepreneur Warren Hill.

Burford Park Estates, Prospect Business Centres and Loxley Homes have been brought together to form Monument Investments.

The businesses, all established by Leeds-based Mr Hill, are now owned by Monument Investments which is planning further growth this year.

The group now employs 30 staff at its three Leeds offices.

Mr Hill, 44 is the sole shareholder of Monument Investments, and has built the portfolio of property businesses since forming Burford Park Estates in 2000.

Burford Park Estates comprises a portfolio of 23 commercial properties from Norfolk to Wales and the North East valued at more than £35m.

Properties range from bank and corporate headquarters to airport business parks and industrial premises.

Prospect Business Centres owns and operates more than 35,000 sq ft of serviced office space in Leeds, including Yorkshire’s first serviced office building – Prospect House on Sovereign Street.

The brand offers flexible office space in its two existing centres and is seeking opportunities to expand its capacity and acquire new office space.

Loxley Homes, a relatively new house building venture, has planning applications under consideration more than 30 executive homes at six Yorkshire locations.

Loxley plans to start work on two of its sites in the next quarter and its homes will target executives.

Mr Hill, Monument’s managing director, said: “We have grown into a group of diverse property businesses over the past nine years, and we wanted to bring everything under the Monument name to enable us to communicate more clearly with the market as we grow into other areas.

“Historically, we have been a landlord, both in commercial and serviced office space, a developer of niche units and an investor in a number of joint venture businesses.

“Right now, we are planning the expansion of all of the existing businesses as well looking at other ventures, including green and eco office spaces, and expect to make more announcements by the end of the year.”

Mr Hill will be joined on the Monument Investments board by finance director and former corporate financier Andrew Walls; Jonathan Raistrick, who heads Loxley Homes; and Charlie Cudworth, managing director of Prospect Business Centres.
