Downturn busting firm doubles turnover and workforce

A STOKESLEY-based business that specialises in network installations has almost doubled its turnover and staff numbers bucking the economic downturn.
MC Ware, which was founded in 1998, has seen sales and profits leap by more than 40% to £1.6m after winning new contracts in the hospitality and professional services sectors as well as oil and gas, marine and renewable energy.
Its workforce has increased from eight to 14 including the appointment of a general manager.
The firm specialises in managing network installations, anti-spam, disaster recovery, telephone systems, marine installations and web and internet design.
Its team now works on project around the region and overseas in countries including China, Norway, Singapore and the US.
Clients include US-based sub-sea firm Trico Marine, MPI Offshore, and Brown Beer Nixon Mallon solicitors in Middlesbrough.
Jonathan Wheatley, managing director of MC Ware, said: “I think the key to our growth is a combination of being involved with a variety of markets around the world and continually investing in staff training and development.
“As we continue to creat jobs we are proving that there is still a chance to shine even during tougher economic times.”
