Lettings success heralds returning confidence

SIR Ian Wriggleworth’s Bluehall Properties operation believes confidence could be returning to the property market after fully letting the remaining space on its Temple Point office scheme in Yorkshire.

Three new lettings, totalling 18,500 sq ft, have been completed at Temple Point, Colton, next to junction 46 of the M1 in West Yorkshire.

The new lettings include more than 12,000 sq ft to portable appliance testing organisation, Nationwide Electrical Safety, which operates nationwide for businesses including Subway, Burger King, Salford College and Bargain Booze.

The company relocated from Colton Mill Office Park and needed additional space for a new national call centre.

Telecommunications and data distribution specialist, Nimans, which supports telephones, telephone systems, headsets, audio conferencing units and structured cabling solutions, relocated from Thorp Arch Estate, Wetherby, to the first floor of one of the units.

In the third new letting, energy management company, Matrix Control Solutions, expanded to 2,500 sq ft on the ground floor of one of the units.

The business, with clients throughout Europe, helps public sector, commercial and industrial organisations cut their energy use through innovation and partnerships.

The lettings followed those to Seven Seas, Resource Group and TSG at the site.

Sir Ian, chief executive of Bluehall Properties, said: “We are delighted to have achieved full occupation at Temple Point in these extremely difficult market conditions.

“To have done this in the face of severe competition from other local business parks, particularly Thorpe Park, shows that our approach, high-specification buildings and deals give an excellent result for new and existing occupiers.”

Carter Towler and King Sturge, Leeds, were appointed agents.

Nationwide Electrical Safety’s managing director, Matthew Adamson, said: “We chose Temple Point over other potential office locations because of its high specification, parking provision and Bluehall Properties’ tenant-friendly approach.

“We are delighted with the agreed deal and look forward to occupying these excellent offices for many years.”

Temple Point was originally developed by Checkhire with Tolent as contractor and sold to Bluehall Properties five years ago.

The development comprises nine detached self-contained, two-storey office buildings totaling more than 76,000 sq ft Bluehall Properties owns six buildings.

Bluehall Properties is a private property company with a portfolio of commercial and industrial properties in Tyneside, Wearside, Teesside and Leeds.
