Latest appointments: Barclays Wealth appoint regional head, Board boost at J M Glendinning and more

INDEPENDENT insurance brokers J M Glendinning has appointed three existing managers to its board.
Life and pensions specialist Andrew Holder, Andrew Holmes, of the personal lines department, and commercial specialist Ian Cockroft have become directors.
Paul Glendinning, managing director of J M Glendinning, said: “These new appointments represent a wealth of knowledge and experience, and I know that they will strengthen our current structure, ensuring we are in very good shape for the future expansion of the company.”
The company moved into its premises at Guiseley, Leeds, two years ago.
It was established in 1972 and has around 40 staff.
The broker also provides both specialist financial and risk services advice.

WEALTH manager and adviser, Barclays Wealth, has appointed a new regional centre head for its Leeds and Manchester operations.
Alan Edwards joins Barclays Wealth from Coutts, where he spent more than three years, most recently as client partner in charge of Leeds.
In his new role, Mr Edwards will be responsible for growing Barclays Wealth across Yorkshire and the North West.
He will divide his time between Leeds and Manchester and will be supported by a team of more than 50 bankers, investment managers and support staff.

COMMERCIAL law firm, Beachcroft, has expanded its Leeds-based team with five new appointments.
Solicitor Joanne Neale and associate Peter Downey join the firm’s healthcare team.
Ms Neale and Mr Downey will provide advice to clients such as the NHS and private health providers.
Shazia Ali, Cerys Lindsay and Alan Poynton join the personal injury team as solicitors and will be responsible for handling liability claims.
Glenn Miller, Beachcroft’s regional senior partner, said; “These new appointments will ensure we can continue to strengthen our key practice areas and take advantage of further opportunities for growth.”

HARROGATE-based law firm, Berwins Solicitors, has appointed a new litigation lawyer.
Mark Fagan joins the firm after more than six years at Barber Titleys.
Mr Fagan specialises in property litigation, both commercial and residential and is experienced in dispute resolution at many levels.
