European launch for revolutionary bandage

A REVOLUTIONARY bandage designed to treat soft tissue injuries at high risk of infection is to be launched in Europe by Smith & Nephew.

The pharamceutical giant, which has its Advanced Wound Management division headquarters in Hull, announced today that Acticoat Flex 3 and Flex 7 would now be sold across Europe.

The Flex range utilises Smith & Nephew’s nanocrystalline silver techonology and has already received global accolades for its use in treating burns.

Roger Teasdale, president of Smith & Nephew Advanced Wound Management, said: “The feedback on ACTICOAT Flex from the markets where it recently became available has been excellent.

“We are committed to improving the quality of life of the patients treated with our products and ACTICOAT Flex, often being used in combination with other brands in our portfolio, is affecting that.”
