Key US patent approval for The Medical House

DRUG delivery group The Medical House today announced that it had received clearance over patents on its autoinjector devices in America.
The move will allow the Sheffield-based company to look at signing international licensing agreements for its products.
The group has received the first two Notices of Allowance from the US Patent and Trade Mark Office on patents for its autoinjector device technology.
Chairman Ian Townsend, said: “These are extremely significant milestones for our company as successful US patent applications underpin our ability to out-license our ASITM autoinjector technology to our international client base. These patent approvals increase the likelihood of signing further licensing agreements for this key self-injection technology.”
Last month the group announced that it has received a takeover approach and today said that a further announcement would be made in “due course” on whether it will lead to a full takeover offer.
The Medical House’s ASITM autoinjector technology enables patients to safely inject themselves with medication using a disposable device in which they cannot see the needle during the injection.
TMH has already signed licensing partnerships with Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Catalent Pharma Solutions and Stallergenes.
