Top bosses to reveal success secrets for Forward Ladies

A POWERFUL line up of top UK business leaders including former Asda boss Tony DeNunzio CBE will take centre stage at a series of autumn events for business men and women hosted by Forward Ladies.
In an economic climate where excellence in customer service is more vital than ever, speakers include Gwyn Burr, customer director of Sainsbury’s and Mr DeNunzio, executive chairman of European retailer Maxeda whose career spans senior roles including president and chief executive of Asda/Wal-Mart UK.
Mr DeNunzio will launch the series of 50/50 events – so called because they are open to women and their male business colleagues – on September 25 from 8.30am – 10.30am at the Queens Hotel in Leeds with ‘The Future of UK Retailing’.
A week later on October 2, Jon Lloyd, chief executive of UK Coal will predict the future role of coal in the UK energy mix from 8.30am to 10.30am at The Met hotel in Leeds.
Angela Spindler, chief executive of The Original Factory Shop, and former managing director of Debenhams will give attendees an insight into ‘building successes’ within their business at a lunch on October 16 in Leeds.
The fourth and final event in the series on November 20 sees a lunch with Gwyn Burr, customer director of Sainsbury who will present on ‘Delivering Customer Excellence’ at The City Inn, Leeds, between midday and 2pm.
Etta Cohen, founder of Forward Ladies, one of the North’s fastest growing women’s networking and business support organisations, commented: “Our ethos is to offer our members the best business insight and opportunities, and we are delighted to extend the series to non-members. Having these top business leaders offer their advice at such a crucial time for the economy should prove both inspirational and educational for all attending.”
Forward Ladies is supported by Yorkshire Forward as part of its commitment to encourage female entrepreneurship in the region. Launched by Etta Cohen in 2000, it now boasts a 3,500 strong membership across the North.
