MEDIA production company MezzoFilms has provided filming and production expertise for fellow Leeds digital agency, Numiko, to create a series of educational games for the BBC GCSE Bitesize revision website.
Numiko received the brief from the new BBC team in March. The agency was tasked with giving the existing ‘RU Revising Science’ game a make-over whilst also producing two new games, ‘RU Revising Maths’ and ‘RU Revising English Language’.
Numiko appointed MezzoFilms as production partner for the games, giving the Leeds-based team control of the filming, editing and audio elements of the games.
The concept behind the game puts the player in the seat of a student who is getting down to some revision only to keep being interrupted by different characters on different media: Skype calls, text messages, instant messenger and phone calls. Each interruption is a new question for the player which aims to test their knowledge on a certain subject.
