Legal appointments: New partner at Clarion, Triple boost at Langleys and more

LEEDS law firm, Clarion Solicitors, has welcomed a new partner to their intellectual property department.

Leigh Martin joins from Lupton Fawcett in Leeds where he was a director in intellectual property for five years and brings with him more than 13 years experience in intellectual property issues.

Mr Martin will work with a diverse client base, from multinationals to SMEs across a range of industries and will practice in all aspects of intellectual property law.

Mr Martin’s area of expertise covers patents, designs, trademarks, passing off, copyrights and the protection of confidential information.

YORKSHIRE law firm, Langleys, has strengthened its employment unit with the appointment of three new specialists.

Danielle Williams, who recently qualified as a solicitor with the firm and Faith Williams, a trainee solicitor, join the employment team.

Katherine Sinclair joins as a newly qualified solicitor from Eversheds in Leeds.

The three new team members will be part of the seven-strong team led by Kate Hindmarch, who was recently appointed as an employment tribunal judge.

THE healthcare department at the Sheffield office of law firm Halliwells, has welcomed a new associate to its team.

Ben Marshall joins from Brodies Solicitors in Scotland.

Mr Marshall initially trained with London city practice Reynolds Porter Chamberlain, gaining experience defending claims against the NHS, before relocating to Edinburgh in 2005 to join the insurance team at DLA Piper.

Mr Marshall has dual qualifications, which means that he can advise clients both north and south of the border.

BERWINS Solicitors has boosted its dispute resolution department with a new appointment.

Rachael Aaron joins the Harrogate-based firm from Addleshaw Goddard in Leeds.

Ms Aaron joins litigation lawyer, Mark Fagan, and trainee solicitor, Robert Harvey, in the current dispute resolution team.
