Leeds City Region: Physical regeneration can drive recovery

PROPERTY development and construction may have been hit hard by the economic downturn but the role of physical regeneration to drive the economy cannot be underestimated.

That’s the view of a number of business and property professionals who have contributed to TheBusinessDesk.com’s Leeds City Region supplement.

Professionals believe that although confidence in the property and construction industry is still fragile, there are signs that things are picking up.

Examples include the acceleration of construction at the Trinity Leeds shopping centre, the £100m Waterfront Wakefield project and £140m Merchant Gate development, also in the West Yorkshire city.

A full report of the discussion can be read in the Leeds City Region: A Force for Growth supplement, in association with DLA Piper and Santander.

The supplement contains expert comment, features and analysis on issues ranging from the economy, to the City Region’s local enterprise partnership and growth.
