Awards round-up: Global win for accountant; Print firms triumph; and more

A YOUNG high flier at accountancy and business advisory firm RSM Bentley Jennison is celebrating after scoring the highest mark worldwide in an accountancy exam.
Simon Turner, based at the company’s Leeds office, scored 89 in the Paper Joint P2 INT.
To mark his achievement, ACCA – the global body for professional accountants – awarded him a cheque for £200.
Mr Turner saidd: “It was a huge challenge to cope with a demanding job and to study for such an important exam, so when I found out my result I was ecstatic.
“Working for RSM Bentley Jennison is very challenging but I received great support from the firm during my studies. I will now move towards completing my qualification with added confidence.”
Neil Sevitt, managing partner at RSM Bentley Jennison’s Leeds office, said: “Simon is a motivated, outgoing student whose skills are highly valued by the senior team and we are delighted that he has managed to excel in his studies whilst juggling a demanding workload.”

PRINT firms throughout Yorkshire brought home a host of awards following the recent Print Week Awards in London.
Sheffield-based Evolution Print won Innovative Printer of the Year for its printing of ‘Noise 5’, a limited edition book which showcases 250 pages of print design on unique paper stocks and uses more than 40 print finishes.
Evolution was also runners up in the Brochure Printer of the Year category.
Northend Creative Print Solutions, also from Sheffield, was crowned Book Printer of the Year, with the judges nominating them as a clear winner in the category.
Other Yorkshire print companies were commended in several categories including the Student of the Year award, in which Chris Marson and Natalie Turner of Leeds City College were recognised.

HEADINGLEY-based media production company Mezzo Films has had its high impact branding video played at the Roses Design Awards 2009.
The awards, held at Nottingham’s East Midlands Conference Centre, promote excellence in graphic and architectural design.
Mezzo Film’s video was based on design concepts created by Dan Lancaster, a designer at Headingley marketing agency Brahm, which has produced the Roses Design Awards collateral for the last three years.
