KPMG names new Northern chairman

JONATHAN Hurst has been appointed as chairman of KPMG’s Northern offices.

Mr Hurst is currently a senior partner in KPMG’s Manchester office and has been an audit partner at KPMG in the North West for 14 years.

His new role will see him preside over the accountants five Northern offices including Leeds.

Mr Hurst said: “It is an absolute honour to be given the opportunity of leading one of KPMG’s largest business units in the UK.

“The team of people that we have across the region is second to none, be it in terms of their skills, expertise and professionalism.”

He succeeds Malcolm Edge, who has been in the role for the past five years. Mr Edge will continue as head of UK markets and will sit on the board of KPMG Europe.
